Flag: Wallis & Futuna Emoji

🇼🇫 means the flag of Wallis and Futuna, also known as the French overseas territory in the South Pacific. 

The flag consists of four quarters: the blue field with a white cross in the top left signifies Christianity and France’s links to the region. The bottom three quarters feature a red background with a white five-pointed star in the top left corner, representing the archipelago’s main islands: Wallis, Futuna, and Alofi. 

According to the Welsh development agency Welsh Government, the flag was adopted officially in 1961. This emoji is used to talk about Wallis and Futuna’s cultural identity, history, geography, or political status as a French Territory.
