The Uruguay Flag Emoji 🇺🇾 concerns the official flag of Uruguay – one of the countries in South America.
The flag is a rectangle with nine horizontal bands of white and blue color which represent nine departments of the country. At the top, left quadrant of the flag you find a golden sun, better known as the ‘Sun of May’ and this is a symbol of freedom as well as independence struggle against Spain.
It was created by artist Juan Manuel Blanes and was adopted on 11 July 1830. This emoji is used for expressing Uruguay’s people, country, and culture, traditions during events such as celebrations of independence or soccer team games.
