Flag: Sri Lanka Emoji

The Sri Lanka Flag Emoji 🇱🇰 is the national flag of Sri Lanka, an island country in Southern Asia. 

Featuring a maroon background with a golden lion holding a sword in the center, this is the flag of the Sinhalese people and their sovereignty. In the left two vertical green and orange stripes are, respectively, the Tamil and Muslim minorities. 

Four leaves surrounding the lion denote Buddhism, Sri Lanka’s main religion. Since then, in December 17, 1978 when the Government of Sri Lanka adopted that flag reflecting its diverse culture and history, the flag was officially adopted as the 'Flag of Sri Lanka'. This emoji represents Sri Lanka’s national identity, culture and pride.
