Flag: Papua New Guinea Emoji

🇵🇬 emoji is the flag of Papua New Guinea, a country in southwestern Pacific. 

The flag is divided diagonally into two triangles: The upper triangle is red and has a yellow bird of paradise, the national symbol, while the lower triangle is black and contains five white stars, as do the Southern Cross constellation. The red and black symbolize the country’s heritage, its land and its people. The bird of paradise represents the nation’s special wildlife and cultural heritage. 

The flag, adopted in 1971, shows Papua New Guinea's indigenous heritage, and its placement in the Pacific region.
