Flag: Palau Emoji

The flag of Palau island country in the Pacific Ocean is represented in the 🇵🇼 emoji. 

A blue field with a large yellow circle slightly off center to the left comprises the flag. The Pacific surrounding the islands is represented by the blue, and the full moon that is important in Palauan culture (and symbolizes peace, love, and tranquility) is represented by the yellow circle. 

When Palau became a self-governing nation, it adopted the flag in 1981. The emoji is used to talk about Palau’s culture, geography, independence or political status as a sovereign nation free associated with the United States.
