๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡น

๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡น is a general symbol of Mayotte, a French overseas department within the Indian Ocean.

The flag features four horizontal stripes: It was white, green, blue and yellow. The flag contains at the top left corner two white lemurs facing each other, representative of Mayotteโ€™s unique flora and fauna. The blue is the sea that surrounds the island, the green is the land, yellow stands for the hopes of the people for reaching a better future and the white is peace and unity.

In 2011 the flag is adopted, which represents Mayotteโ€™s cultural and natural heritage. This is used for discussing Mayotteโ€™s geography, (including political status as part of France).
