Flag: Macao Sar China Emoji

The emoji 🇲🇴 Macau Flag Emoji is the national flag of Macau a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of China. Both sides of the flag are green with a white lotus flower centered, symbolizing peace and beauty, and five five yellow stars above it represent the union of China and Macau. 

Then the stars symbolize the Chinese government’s sovereignty over the area. Macau was returned from Portuguese rule back to China in 1999, and that’s when the flag was adopted on December 20, 1999. 

The design combines aspects of Macau’s local identity and its ties to China. Macau is represented in this emoji with its culture, its history and its pride.
