The flag consists of three bars red, blue and green with a white bar in the center between the blue and green bars. The red stands for the challenges that people of Gambia faced in their fight for independence from the colonial masters, the blue represents the Gambia River which is “part and parcel of the country’s geographical and political features, green stands for the vegetation /arable land.” The white stripe represents harmony and oneness with our brothers across the color line dividing Black and White.
