Flag: Christmas Island Emoji

🇨🇽 emoji represents the flag of Christmas Island, seen in the Indian Ocean, as an Australian external territory. 

The flag is all yellow-green in background and in the top left corner is a Union Jack to denote the British heritage and amid the five stars of the Southern Cross constellation. In 1986, the design was adopted to reflect Australian sovereignty over the island, but also to pay homage to Britain’s historic relationship with the island. 

In relation to the culture, wildlife, geography and environmental issues of the Christmas Islands in particular its famous red crab migration and its unique biodiversity.
