The symbol 🇻🇬 is the Flag Emoji of the British Virgin Islands – the British Overseas Territory situated in the Caribbean region.
There is a blue background upon which Union Jack is positioned at the upper left corner to show the connection to United Kingdom. On the right-hand side, there is the coat of arms of the territory – Saint Ursula with the gold lamp and the gold scroll with the words Virgin Islands and Christian Islanders.
The flag has been adopted in 1960. This created emoji is used to depict BVI’s culture, traditions, and identity. Even the flag is not an invention of the Jay, it is a tradition of the British navy
